The kids paid $2 to participate in Spirit Week at the school (Adrianna's class sponsored this raising $930 to go towards the "Pay It Forward Fund"). Today was Jersey Day but neither of them have a jersey. They thought about it for a while and decided to make their own. So with $4 t-shirts and washable felts this what they came up with: Eli - A wolf wearing a cub sash and scarf. He had written Wolf Pac on the back with a paw print. Adrianna - A target representing archery. She had written JOP (Junior Olympic Program) Club on the back. Of course kids at school didn't think they were jerseys but I'm so impressed with their creativity and wanting to represent something that means something to them!

Cake Decorating
Tonight Adrianna and I decided to try something new (for us). Creativity with cake decorating!
I have two young women I work with at church that have had birthdays within a week of each and I wanted to make a cake. Plus, my dads (aka Papa Jack) birthday is tomorrow and Adrianna decided that she'd like to make a cake for him! We each started off with a round 9" cake and this is what we came up with (a little help with youtube and Betty Crocker sites).
Adrianna's Guitar Cake Funny thing is.....Papa Jack lives on Vancouver Island so he didn't actually get to enjoy his cake but we sure did! By the way it was very tasty!
Jen's Butterfly Cake As I started this I quickly remembered why I don't cake decorate - I don't have the patience!
HAPPY BIRTHDAY
PAPA JACK!

A Gift To Be Used Now
Adrianna is REALLY enjoying the band program at school and at the beginning of the year she was invited to join the honour band (something she was so excited about and we're so proud of)!! So between hauling her instrument back and forth to school twice a week and attending her honour band class one day a week her old heavy case is really starting to show its wear and tear.
What's the big deal you ask? Well when you have a child that likes to think of different ways to make her life easier (ie: putting her sax on her skateboard and wheeling it to school) sometimes as a parent you've got to step in and say - we've already thought of it. So a gift that is many months early was presented to her the other night. Take a look.
