6 Month Check Ups Here I Come!

Today was my six week check up with my Radiation Oncologist. All went well and it looks like I'm officially done WAHOOOOOOO!!!!

My future medical regime consists of six month check ups with my family doctor for the next five years AND an annual check up with my Oncologist. This sounds funny to me but my annual check up to see my Oncologist has been booked and is set for January 26, 2009 WOW.

There are still a few appointments here and there such as seeing my plastic surgeon in April, a meeting with the Hereditary Department in May or June and we can't forget about The Weekend to End Breast Cancer in September!

WHAT No School?!?!

We woke up to snow.......ALL public schools closed for the day.

Let me just say that I had two very very unhappy children WHAT you say? Today was suppose to be PJ day at school and they were sooooo excited. All they kept saying was NO PJ day just because of some snow?????!!!!!

We forfeited breakfast and getting dressed, put on our snow gear and headed outside for some snow shovelling and play!

Adrianna wasn't into pictures while Eli posed!

So in the end it WAS a PJ day just hidden by snow gear and fun times in the snow!!!

White Rock Beach

Today the kids and I spent the afternoon with Nikki, Kaya & Keidis.

Oh, how I LOVE the west coast where in the middle of January it's a beautiful sunny, mild temperatured day!! To enjoy this incredible day we went to White Rock Beach where the kids had lots of fun throwing rocks into the ocean, looking for treasures that consisted of shells, sea glass and pretty rocks (a limit had to be made on how many of those pretty rocks could come home)!

Adrianna & Eli had lots of fun playing with their cousins while I had lots of fun visiting with my sister-in-law having adult conversation!

Thanks for a fun day guys!!!

Vancouver British Columbia Temple

Today at Church it was Ward Conference and during Primary the Stake President came in and spoke to the children. He gave them each a gift. Their own copy of the Vancouver British Columbia Temple (pictured above), which is being built right now in Langley.

Adrianna and Eli are very excited to have their very own copies of this beautiful rendition of the Vancouver British Columbia Temple. Tomorrow we'll pick up some picture frames and hang them in their rooms!

Our 10th Wedding Anniversary, WOW

January 13th, 1998 Les and I entered the Hawaii Temple where we were married and sealed for time and all eternity.

We were accompanied by my sister Tricia and Les's parents Russ and Martie Haddad.

Then it was off to the Island Kaui'i for our honeymoon!!

Fast forward 10 years and here we are.......

......all grown up!!!

It's been an incredible 10 years and you would be naive if I said it was all blissful!! We've worked at it, nurtured it and have been able to enjoy the outcome. I'd say it's been a great start to eternity!!

I feel incredible. I'm in control of me. I LOVE life!!!

As I was walking this morning I started feeling more and more invigorated as I walked and my brain was just flying with thoughts and ideas. For so long I was so worried about how life would continue on after I was done all my treatments but I finally figured it out. It wasn't so much how life would go on but would I ever have control of me again?

For so long I haven't been able to totally control me for many reasons, cancer, surgery, doctors, chemo drugs, radiation, etc. All these things were causing such havoc on my body for so long and I couldn't control many of their outcomes because I never knew how my body or mind would respond to all these different things BUT finally a month after being done I realize I DO have control and it feels incredible! Life is so good!

The Weekend to End Breast Cancer (check out my page) is in September and I finally feel like I can start training for it, which is what I've started doing this week and boy does it feel good. I finally feel like I can control how good or bad my body feels and I want it to feel fantastic, beautiful, incredible, energized and most importantly ALIVE!!

So Proud of Myself!

I accomplished a sewing project ALMOST completely by myself, trust me this a huge feat unto itself!!! Luckily my sister was home so with a couple phone calls of total confusion and a few laughs I kept on the right track and I'm done (in one day even)!!!

What is it you ask? Well.......it's a scripture tote for Adrianna. Between her scriptures, songbooks, scripture markers, etc. she was really needing something different to carry everything. The scripture case she had is meant only for scriptures so with everything else shoved into it, it was bursting at the seams.

Last night the two of us ventured off to the fabric store where she picked out the fabrics and trim. We got everything cut out and then today she went to school while I VERY slowly worked my way through the project.

The tote obviously can be for any use but the best part is that the following website
http://mysocalledperfectlife.com/crafty-mommy-projects/the-tote-tutorial/ has directions. All you have to do is click and print and work your own magic!

Here are the pictures. I'm so proud of my accomplishment and thanks a million Tamsen for the help via phone!!

New Years With the Haddad's

A last minute decision we packed up and headed to Salmon Arm where we spent a couple days with Les's parents, grandma and Freddie (our cat)! The kids had a blast in the snow and Les and I enjoyed the relaxation.
