Les's parents (Martie & Russ) have spent the week with us and admittedly we were all a little worried about having grandpa sitting around for a a whole week, this spells nothing but BORED. So....we made a suggestion and he went right to work well first he toured the new meat plant out in Chilliwack with Les (something I think only meat cutters can truly appreciate) THEN he went to work.
So do you want to know what it was? Come on are you not just a little bit curious?
He painted!!!!!
Just before moving we were doing some renovations to our home in Fort St. James and part of that was painting. Adrianna wanted her room painted and the answer was no. PLUS she wanted it red and that was a double no! When we found out we were moving it was suggested that she could have her new room painted not ever imagining that we'd be buying a brand new home that was freshly painted!
For the past year and a half we've regularily been reminded that I had said she could have her room painted whatever colour she wanted and some how we've managed to stall it. Recently I commented to Russ & Martie that I was thinking of painting the kids rooms. So.....this is where painting comes in and this is where grandpa Haddad comes in. He had the time, patients and willingness to do it. Hooray for grandpa Haddad!!!!!
Adrianna & Eli were asked what colours they would like and there really was no surprise that Adrianna wanted pink (yes, she got over red on her own) and Eli wanted orange. It took a little while to find a couple oranges that we felt we could handle on the walls so Eli picked out which one he liked best. As for Adrianna her and I had discussed stripes so she picked out some pretty pinks and grandpa worked his magic (her room almost makes me want to be a girly girl it's pretty cool)! Grandpa wasn't too sure about strips he's done a lot of painting but never strips but grandpa you done good (he's pretty proud of himself too)!
There are still some pictures that need to go up on the walls and bedding to be changed but that will happen over the next few months.
