Something For All Of Us

Our family is excited because we have found an activity that doesn't cost an arm and a leg, we can do individually and has us together.......want to know what it is?!

ARCHERY

When we lived in Fort St. James we had a decent yard that allowed us to do archery in our backyard, plus a shed that could hold up our target and handle my arrows! At that time Les already had a bow so we picked up one for me and a cheap kids one for Adrianna (the kids were little). We had lots of fun in the backyard as a family shooting our arrows. When we left our shed had many many holes and we had many many memories!!

Three years later we haven't done any archery some of it due to illness but mostly due to city life. Funny looks are given when you pull a bow out in your backyard! The kids have often asked about it especially Adrianna because she remembers.

Last night we officially signed the kids up for JOP (Junior Olympic Archery Program) at the PCDHFC (Port Coquitlam & District Hunting & Fishing Club) which is a program sponsored by the BC Archery Association. The kids were able to shoot arrows along with a dozen other kids and learn proper techniques. Later in the evening Les and I were able to pull out our bows and do the same thing (boy am I rusty).

Last week the kids got their bows........

and they practiced and practiced and practiced in the backyard

We're all looking forward to this fun family activity and at bettering our individual abilities. I'm sure as time goes on you'll hear more about our adventures as up and coming archers!!
