ANYTHING Can Happen in Just a Moment

5 hours in emergency, a brand new pair of jeans cut by an ambulance attendant, parking fees, billing for crutches and probably a bill for the ambulance ride later we're home safe and sound!!

This picture was taken after Adrianna had xrays and after a big needle was injected into her knee to drain all the blood pooling around her knee. What a trooper!!

This is our story (really Adrianna's):

We had an exciting afternoon/evening at our place today. Just before school was out I headed to Mission for gas for the truck and Les headed into the garage to muck about. Needless to say Les couldn't hear the phone ringing, which was the school informing us Adrianna had hurt her knee. Thankfully the telephone tree system the school has worked, our next contact person picked up Eli and the school phoned an ambulance for Adrianna. On my way home passing the school I noticed the ambulance and thought it odd considering school had ended 40 minutes earlier never guessing in a million years it was for my daughter!

She was moving her desk at the end of the day somehow slipped and fell and dislocated her knee. We spend 5 hours in emergency.......when she went in for the xray the tech moved her leg and it popped the knee back into place but the doctor wasn't happy with how much fluid build up there was so he drained some of it only to find blood and a few fat cells (not a good sign apparently) so now we know she's done something but what we're not sure or to what extent? The xray didn't show any broken bones but he's concerned with the few fat cells and wondering if it's cracked and/or ligament damage. The doc has been in contact with an ortho pediatrician whom we'll hopefully see Monday, we'll be taking her to White Rock hospital to see him and he'll evaluate what is going on and whether an MRI should be done.

We've brought her mattress down to the main floor since she's bandaged from her ankle to her thigh and is on crutches and has to stay off of her leg at least until she gets in to see the other doctor.
