Murphy's Law

Why is it when you think your child just has a minor cold it's more then that?! This happend to me this past week.......

My kids had the opportunity to catch a ride with a cousin and spend 4 days with their grandparents in Salmon Arm. When they left Eli had a bit of a barking cough and had had it for just about a week but it wasn't getting worse (yes, we were giving him cough syrup) and he had shown no signs of a fever, running nose, being tired, you know all those symptoms us mothers look for.

Well he coughed all the way to Salmon Arm so they figured he should get it checked. Admittedly I rolled my eyeballs when I found out and figured they were acting like the paranoid mother I was trying NOT to be but nope he had an ear infection! A minor ear infection but still an ear infection...... now do I not feel like the lousiest mother or what!!!

So why is it when you take them to the doctors office your a parnoid mother because there is nothing wrong and you've wasted the doctors time but when you don't and wait, and wait, and wait until finally you take them in your the uncaring mother? I think murphy's law sums it up best!

Now I have the barking cough so should I be going to the doctors?!
