Tonight was a reminder of just how much I learn from my children.
Headed towards the dollar store so that the kids could buy themselves some treats we drove by a gentleman on the side of the road, on crutches and holding a big sign. I didn't catch what it said but basically he was needing help.
Eli full of emotion stating to no one in particular, "It breaks my heart EVERY SINGLE TIME I see someone struggling, EVERY SINGLE TIME." Instead of using the money he was going to use to buy himself a treat he asked that I stop so he could give it to the gentleman.
Tearing up trying not to burst into tears feeling his deep compassion we did just that. Such a sweet, sweet spirit he has and a lesson needed for the rest of us.
